Here is a military tactical breakdown of how screwed-up the Battle of Winterfell went down. I chose to compare classical military tactics from source material of human history arguing the poor writing of the Winterfell Episode. In the episode of “THE LONGEST BATTLE SCENE SHOT FOR A TV SHOW!!” audiences after 7 long years gets a similar feeling from Rian Johnson’s Star Wars Episode VIII The Last Jedi. A villain so-hyped-up only to not say not a word, no additional explanation of the villain’s intentions, and dies by the power of a female…Not doubting the skill of Ayra’s stealthy character and definitely Arya is not a Mary Sue as Rey from Star Wars…regardless, viewers received so much and the same time so little plot content from the Battle for Winterfell episode!
Alexander the Great, the Mongols, Romans and Greeks would not over-commit their forces in anyway! In addition, dismounting the heavy Knights of the Vale to foot soldiers and sending the Dothraki blindingly to test the enemy strength is an absolutely horrible military strategy by show writers. Setting aside the aspect of being a "show" with a "budget" one would think as many battles as Jon, Daenrys, Tyrion, Sansa and even Jaime have experienced would have planned (character-wise) a better tactical strategy against the Un-dead. WHY WOULD LEADERS TACTICALLY DISADVANTAGE ITS POSITION BY DISMOUNTING THE KNIGHTS OF THE VALE DEGRADING TO FOOT SOLDIERS????!
