DC Animated Movie Death of Superman is Superb, IGN SUCKS at Reviews.

Death of Superman Movie Review today! Beyond The Trailer reaction & review 2018 DC animated movie! Doomsday vs Justice League! http://bit.ly/subscribeBTT Death of Superman Movie Review today! Beyond The Trailer host Grace Randolph's reaction & review of The Death of Superman, the 2018 animated movie from DC and Warner Bros Animation!

This particular reaction is to IGN and their half-ass pathetic reviews by Jim Vejvoda who I have always cringed when reading, or watching, his under five minute “reviews” of the so-called content. Vejvoda is paid through the cash-cow companies, Disney and Marvel, to shit on quality work! Vejvoda does not understand and significantly research through the material to make an honest review! This blows my mind with IGN’s Death of Superman 2:19 so-called review. IGN received over 82,000 views on YouTube and correspondents/writers like Vejvoda just shitted on DC without giving a well-balanced review.

A more honest and well-balanced review of DC’s Death of Superman can be seen on Grace Randolphs channel: Beyond the Trailer. Grace takes the time and is highly knowledgeable in comic, film and pop-culture lore than the jokers of IGN.

IGN 15 years ago was a close-knit group of like-minded individuals who actually worked in the gaming/nerd industry. Writers and Correspondence of IGN before 2010 actually understood the content taking the time to make honest reviews. Today, we have a bunch of man-babies and pretty-looking faces from the female side, to make these reviews because it’s click-bait. IGN receives pay checks from competitors to shit-on competitors and if you’re obviously making a ton of money being paid to make reviews, those reviews are going to be skewered. It is who pays for the reviews, correct? Paid-PR is the nasty aspect and reality of the entertainment business.

My gripe is these so-called “reviewers” do not read comic books, not familiar with the lore, not taking the time to research the backdrop stories, don’t give credit to the actual writers, producers, voice actors and actresses in the content. IGN only cares about putting a pretty face on the review whether it be male or female.

In the end, Death of Superman is not “Just Another Doomsday” as stated by the jack-ass Jim Vejvoda from IGN. The DC animated film touches on the emotions of the characters blending the New 52 Justice League with the past content of the DC Universe.

Dickboys

I have to say that finally a DC animated movie that shits on the live action and the Marvel animation department. However it is only ONE animation film done well among a long string of sub-par DC animation ...although I did enjoy viewing the past movies but not as much as this particular Death of Superman.

WonderCon March 23-25 2018 Press Review

Wondercon has always been a "family" convention that caters mostly to independent artist, vendors, and most important COMICS! Unlike the big brother San Diego Comic Con that promotes the large television networks, movie tycoons and mass-marketing to the main stream media. Wondercon stays true to its humble origins. My first Wondercon attended was 2009 and Yes! it is still crowded as FHUUUCK but hey its a great place to be for the family. What is great about Wondercon is the pricing of the passes. Once again the big brother SDCC sells passes way into the $500 range on eBay, Offerup and Craigslist for preview night and 4-Days! Registering for SDCC is madness compared to Wondercon.  Wondercon has the same atmosphere minus the almighty mass-media and celebrities. Wondercon passes were sold-out for Friday and Saturday but Sunday bargain day is just $20!

Of course myself and Helen are Press, so our badges are complimentary.

In the end Wondercon is still a must-see event and although growing in the past years, I really appreciate all the independent artist, signed artist, vendors and collectors on the expo floor. The management staff does a great job with security and the new system of scanning passes to weed-out the trouble makers creates a humble experience for anyone looking to attend a Comic Book Convention!

Great Job WonderCon see you next year!

Other than what I observered WonderCon is another great experience and I personally feel is better than SDCC.

Taking photos is my assistant Helen Vee. She really enjoyed the History of Comic Books in Conference Room 210 which made me realize just how many talented artist from other cultures and countries go unnoticed. A spectacular panel and a knowledgeable speaker from Rice University speaking on his research of comic books and artist from Mexico and other countries!

Another Comic Con Come and Gone 2016

Another Comic Con Come and Gone 2016

Since the early 2000s I have ventrued to the land of San Diego...although the area has not changed much with homeless wandering about the area and random beggars around Petco Park...the allure of SDCC is all too popular to ignore!

I must point out that this 2016 Con was not at all as "substanced" as previous years. What do I mean by that? It is now a playing ground for popular big-named studios to vie with big budgets in order to secure network rights to broadcast SDCC. What I have noticed...and I will elaborate on this in a bit...is that the small-time media (me) and production crews have all but disappeared. This is truly sad. No longer do I see small media at the con in the form of journalistic, broadcast, and bloggers. One would only need to connect the dots and am sure the big and nasty "Hollywood Studios" had influence over the small media businesses. This is what the original Comic Con was about...in fact, Star Wars was the first film ever to be premiered at SDCC and George Lucas has always wrestled with the large production studios...and this is why. Although small media has been squashed, sort of speak, their existence still persist but in smaller numbers and replaced in favor of more $$$ Lucrative avenues for the Convention Management and Comic Con itself!

SMALL MEDIA MADE COMIC CON THE WAY IT IS NOW...

I had a difficult discussion with the Media Press box at the Convention. I will not name names but the new directive and rules for media are...

1. Followers

2. Content

3. Consistency

I get it...however, I work for a University...a University does not have followers. The Cons have changed over the years and now advertise and employ beautiful Cosplayers and models to venture the Con...Families and first-timers to SDCC may suck-it-all-in with photos and selfies but they fail to see the legacy of SDCC going sour. Do not get me WRONG...SDCC is still a great place to be for all the information you need granted, you need to know what your going there for...I go there for business and not so much pleasure but it bothers the FUCK out of me when I cannot get an interview, a SDCC exclusive because the 9 snotty teenagers and family of 7 beat me to the collectible exclusives! FUUUUUCK! Then the fucks sell it on Ebay. FUCK YOU!

FUCKING LINES FOR A TRACER OVERWATCH SDCC EXCLUSIVE! SOLD OUT at $150 EA AND NOW ON EBAY FOR $500-800

FUCKING LINES FOR A TRACER OVERWATCH SDCC EXCLUSIVE! SOLD OUT at $150 EA AND NOW ON EBAY FOR $500-800

I love the Cosplayers. I support many independent Cosplayers...but shit...I cannot perform business duties at SDCC anymore without the lines and headache of families...SIGH.

Like anything else in this world markets become saturated. Comic Con now attracts too many for its area to handle. Las Vegas and Los Angeles would be ideal because of the space. However, Comic Con has its roots in San Diego and a huge blockbuster of income for the city. I get that...however, the Convention  and Comic Con management has gotten fat off the large production studios that they no longer need people like me. I get it...in fact this was OPENLY admitted by the supervisor in charge of the Media Booth. I gave her my opinion in the most logical and non-aggressiveness tone and she understood. She admitted that in the past small media was the means to get SDCC popular but now "things are different." G-G corporate Murica! FUCK! Now the one thing I enjoy going to every summer has turned a blind eye to even the original bloggers, media, broadcasters, and independent companies that MADE and SUPPORTED Comic Con in the past 15 years since its explosion in 2008!

The one take-away from this year is the DC movies...I am a prolific reader and collector of DC and must say...Wonder Woman...I love you... Her stand alone movie will kick some fucking ass!

BATMAN VERSUS SUPERMAN IS SUPER BADASS!!! Reaction and Review NO SPOILERS

oooOOooOK! So being the movie snob that I am and going into this movie with reservation and preconceived notions have now been completely tossed out the window. There are very few times that I prove myself in error and this would have to be it. Batman versus Superman: Dawn of Justice blew away any online hatred that I may have had about Ben Affleck as "Batman" and Jeremy Irons as "Alfred"...HOWEVER, I must point out that all but ONE point in this movie got crossed off my reservation list...Jesse Eisenberg. Nothing against his acting prowess more so on the casting choice to play the all-to-serious and overtly intelligent human, Lex Luthor. His portrayal and look just did not do it for me.

Alright got that bad lemon out of the way. Regardless of THAT character the movie was phenomenal and carried me all the way through wanting more. I have to say and will point out that DISNEY and Marvel but mostly DISNEY are maleficent, jealous, and sinister. DC Comics is breaking into the movie business and from what the "reviews" state of this movie, I declare as all false. Perhaps Disney PAID...PAIIIIID writers and skeptics to put down this movie. Who knows? I for one am not buying the negative feedback.

All I can say...Wonder Woman...FUUUUUCK YEAH!!!!

Sexy.

Strong.

Superb.

The producers kept her natural speaking accent in which kept it interstellarly beautiful and unique. Wonder Woman is a magical creature from GREEK Mythology and by keeping her speaking accent unchanged was a worthy addition to the movie!

This movie is NOT a Marvel/Disney flick and if your expecting the humorous puns and over the top CG fight scenes, you are not appreciating cinema. Zack Snyder did a magnificent job with the story line and captured the essence of a TRUE DC Comic portrayal. Marvel has always been a more "playful" comic than DC. I am not sure if this is the best choice of words in describing and I am sure some would disagree. Subjectively, Marvel does too much liberal writing in their comics and always look to relate the average daily life of a human to a super hero. I don't give a shit about Spider Man not getting a date with Mary Jane because he is too pussy to ask her out! I WANT DARKNESS I WANT GODS AMONG MEN!!! For me Comic Book characters portrayed and written in DC are above our mode of thought and physical means. Bruce Wayne is one of us "normal" humans but he is disturbed. DEEPLY disturbed as a child and if you do not know his backstory then your stupid for not. Superman is also disturbed but in a different way. He wants to be human but his alien ability to be super makes him a God. Not saying that Marvel does not have character back drops, I personally feel that DC's characters go far deeper in emotion and thought.

In the end, I am not going to debate which franchise has the bigger dick over the other. The point is DC deserves to break into the Comic Book Movie world and I encourage ALL TO SEE and SUPPORT this type of comic book movie. I will end with this. DC Comics has always laid the foundation of super characters and story lines. If you READ comics you will understand and know that Marvel has always and I mean always copied/mirrored toons from DC...here are some examples of similarities who was created (DC) first/ (Marvel) second:

Atom/Antman -both can shrink

Batman/Ironman-Rich boys one with an iron suit but no parent issues

Superman/Captain American and Hulk-Super in every way basically Gods

Wonder Woman/Thor-Greek/Viking Mythology

The Flash/Quicksilver-both speedsters

Comic-con 2015 after 10 years...Review and Analyzation

Comic-con 2015 can it be degrading?...crowds and people suck...yessss the convention this year has tested my nerves, my will, and my hope for a better tomorrow. This is why I enjoy smaller expos. An area that supports around 30,000 pushes the limits of safety with 150,00+ homo sapiens. The feeling is subjective however, frustration is related to not only fans but also the people in the working industry and even the local San Diego community!  I cannot say that it was a GREAT trip and pessimism is definitely at the tip of my tongue but shit fucking nerd-fuck out of Megatron's Decepticon ass was this con overcrowded!!!!

Granted I have been coming to this convention for the past 10 years and never have I been so bitter and walked away so disappointed, as I have this year. I packed my shit and threw in the towel Saturday afternoon and headed back to Los Angeles. Look, I did experience SOME measure of gratitude and satisfactory take-away. For example, meeting the savior of  DC Comic's Chief Creative Officer Geoff John's. Just by listening to this man speak and his progress within the industry made me smile, that a person as humble as Geoff Johns is spearheading a better direction for writing not only comics but also shows like Arrow and The Flash. The most inspiring aspect of Geoff is his desire to work and learn with others often analyzing things that did work with marginal success but with greater failure. Geoff measured his success in this way. Small steps with greater mistakes but nonetheless progress. Most people need to understand that Geoff Johns brought comic characters back to life and drew upon his own personal life of loss, describing his own sister whom passed away, in the likeliness of Stargirl from Justice League of America. He took third-rated heroes and comic lines and wrote magnificent stories revitalizing characters like Stargirl, Booster Gold, Teen Titans, The Flash , and Hal Jordan. Geoff is enlightening. He continues to want to write about underdog characters bringing those characters back to life with his style of writing. Sadly, nobody will know how true Geoff Johns is unless they truly pick up a comic and read it with an open imagination rather than drawing their understanding of characters through adapted comic book films.

Geoff Johns!!!

Geoff Johns!!!

Nevertheless, the small hint of Blue Lantern Hope diminished once I exited that panel as I, a Press-badge holder, was quickly herded away by the coordinating Comic-con staff right back into the sea of human bodies, spoiled children badgering their parents for food, and people just trying to MOVE in a direction...sometimes no direction all! Let's stand in the middle of the river of bodies and look-up at the WB  signings and premiere of Supergirl...shit!!!...sigh...not to be a Debbie downer, o-k...I am being a hater right now... I am grateful that the convention's level of attention has increased, however, it is the type of attention that Con has drawn over the years.

**Tear** needed to wait in line for a raffle at 2AM and then get selected to BE in line from that raffle ticket...W T F!?!??

**Tear** needed to wait in line for a raffle at 2AM and then get selected to BE in line from that raffle ticket...W T F!?!??

For example, the toy and collectible fancrave has become a scalping ground for eBay fucks and Craigslist trolls buying the Comic-con exclusives, taking up line space, and bumping off a guy like me that just wants ONE White Ranger Saba Black-edition sword!!! FUUUUCK!@! this is what I am getting at, it is the TYPE of people(s) being drawn to Comic-con. Possibly the most annoying groups to be attracted is the evangelical haters that ironically preach about hatred through "enlightenment" and "sins" very well warn you that comics are the devil...o-ok fuckheads! Let me preach to you about a GOD, his name is Superman and his character does not preach and impose on others his view of what YOU should not be doing.

Anyways, 2009 to 2011 were A W E S O M E ...It was for me fulfilling with a different blend of everything and anything and actually have the space and time to view displays without being claustrophobic...as it is today. The feelings are subjective. If this was your first San Diego Comic-con its like sex for the first time! Granted, SOME homo sapiens enjoy the crowd and feed off the energy. The feeling of the Con now is subjective. However for professionals, or self-prescribed professionals, we are wrestling with the notion of either writing a few positives about the Con, or focusing how long the lines to just take a PISS.

IS JON SNOW COMING BACK??? fuck if there was a dollar for every fan that asked this question...

Look, all the highlights and premieres at Comic-con can be viewed at the comfort of your home. It all boils down to what you intend to DO at the Con and this is trouble in the making. The entire Con was established to preview Indie movies (Star Wars in 1976), independent art, comic books, collectibles and the nostalgia of meeting your past sci-fi/fantasy actors that are unemployed making that quick $20 on a useless hand shake and photo. Comic-con today incorporates juggernaut productions companies, like Disney, that smash and push-out independent film makers and nostalgia actors like Richard Hatch, or Star Trek the Next Generation cast, into submission. Look, people want to see Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, cast from Game of Thrones, and so-forth...however, these production companies from Hollywood eclipses the creativity of independent film makers and artist.

Geeks please do not fall prey to this shit...

Geeks please do not fall prey to this shit...

Like all things, shit gets way out of hand. Comic-con is also a breeding ground for would-be entertainers attempting to break into the business of geekdom. For example this bitch...Amelia Talon the "Playmate of July 2012 World of Warcraft For the Horde" yah...OOoo-k.. 4 years putting on some weight and photo-edited like a mother fucker...hey look, I CAN DO IT TOO ON PHOTOSHOP!!!. She barely knows anything about gaming, pretends to play the controller, has no idea about character lore, has bros playing in the background for her, and she claims to be The GamerNextDoor? Not buying it. By the way, her WoW toon is in BOE gear with blues/greens. Sadly, the nerd community donates $$$ and flocks to these so-called gamer-girls like the fucking plague. Some even volunteer to play their account so girls like this can sit and look pretty on Twitch and YouTube! Stop it bros! We like to see more women in gaming but not like this. I respect and worship Felicia Day. A true geek and entrepreneur. Nevertheless women like Felicia Day are indeed RARE...mainstream entertainment kicked aspiring actresses to side-jobs picking up pennies on the floor dropped by major corporations like pigeons eating bread crumbs and peanut scraps. It shows Comic-con spurred on a movement of beautiful girls claiming to be in the industry of gaming and geekdom but yet...this Amelia Talon revealed on her panel on Thursday that this was her first Comic-con! I do not see the connection for a girl claiming to be a gamer and geek but has no problem in taking other people's money and donations. Not saying this girl does but there are those in the Twitch community who revel in such fraud. Ask yourself this, what defines a gamer? Does someone who picks up a controller plays for 15-20 minutes a gamer? Or create a character on an MMO and does not log-in for months but someone else levels for them, can this be a gamer? A true geek and gamer must know lore and character backgrounds. Do your homework to somewhat look and sound like you can identify/relate in a group discussion setting especially when you are a host of a panel!!! At the panel on Thursday she sat there and blanked out several times when asked a geek-question from the lead host...sad...sigh...whatever...

Awesome 80s Coverband!!

The night life  continues into the streets of San Diego. It can be a hazardous atmosphere because anyone with a weapon can take out hundreds of people...scary...Nevertheless, SDPD is in full tax-payer force. Literally Gaslamp District benefits from the droves of families trying to park and eat however, the locals being "Bros-n-Hoes" mash and mingle at some point but you definitely do not want to have your 7 year-old boy looking up the mini skirt of a gal heading out to get her fuck-on with some Navy Bro. I for one, see the illusion and deception from the businesses in and around the Gaslamp District. They pretend to be geeks and advertise nerd-affiliated by preying on the people of the Con. It is sad. It is capitalism. However, it can get out of hand as the mixture of night locals blend with the the cosplayers and unique personalities that come from Comic-con. This can be a soup for disaster as different personalities will mash. So far, so good there has not been an incident.  It is not so much a negative thing, again subjective to the individuals but forewarning for those newcomers and international people that these Bros-n-Hoes, may not want people like us there for long. Some Bros-n-Hoes welcome the onslaught of diversity but the majority, you can see it on their face yet, they have no problem taking your money. Just shop around and you will find your spot and a place to eat. For example, we bar-hopped from Bro n Ho to a nice kick-back environments that had live bands! We found a 80s rock cover band!!

So in the end, it was a decent Comic-con. There were a few moments of walking on thin ice and primordial urges to sock some people in the face. After 10 years of venturing to SDCC this one stood out as the least satisfying, subjectively speaking, only because people create a soup for disaster. As a professional I could not work and enjoy the content that I was dispatched to report on. I will see about next year...
